The tacos are staying! Fort Worth restaurants by Dickies Arena, Stockyards remain open

Taco Heads is staying.

Both landmark restaurants, known for specialty tacos and one of the city’s top-ranked margaritas, will remain open near Dickies Arena and in the Fort Worth Stockyards, founder Sarah Castillo said Wednesday.

The two locations, 1812 Montgomery St. and 2349 N. Main St., will continue with Christmas and New Year’s Eve parties and specials for crowds coming Jan. 12-Feb. 3 for the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo, she said.

“PSST / TACO HEADS IS / HERE TO STAY / #NOTCLOSING”

“We are definitely still open and everybody’s happy and excited,” she said. An announced sale didn’t work out.

“I think everything happens for a reason,” she said. “I am honestly so relieved.”

Castillo started with a food truck outside West Seventh Street bars 14 years ago.

She and her family eventually joined business partners to open both restaurants, and Castillo also helped open Tinies, 113 S. Main St., a contemporary interior-Mexico restaurant, and Sidesaddle Saloon, 122 E. Exchange Ave.

This year, she and business partners founded La Pulga Spirits, a 100%-agave tequila maker.

Taco Heads’ Montgomery Street location opens at 8 a.m. and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily; 817-615-9899, tacoheads.com.

The Stockyards location opens at 10 a.m. weekdays and Sundays and at 8 a.m. Saturdays; 817-420-6299.
