Fort Worth’s new hotel is closer to opening. Here’s when to book a restaurant table

Emilia’s to open by the holidays

Hey, Bud! I can’t find where to make reservations for Emilia’s at the Crescent. Can you book there yet?

—Question from a family member

Not quite. Watch Resy.com later in September to book reservations for the holidays at Emilia’s, chef Preston Paine’s Mediterranean restaurant, or the Crescent’s fine-dining offering, The Blue Room.

Both will open in late October in the cultural district at 3300 Camp Bowie Blvd.; thecrescenthotelfortworth.com.

Know your Margaritavilles

Hey, Bud! I thought it was Mariano’s [that inspired Jimmy Buffett’s song “Margaritaville”]? Or Matt Martinez?

—Comment af facebook.com/diningguy

Mariano’s and Mariano Martinez invented the margarita machine in Dallas in May 1971. He still has Tarrant County restaurants at 2614 Majesty Drive, Arlington and 5250 Texas 121, Colleyville.

Later, in 1976, Buffett was inspired to write “Margaritaville,” but that was in Austin.

He was drinking frozen margaritas at Jimmie Lung’s Cocina del Sur, 2700 W. Anderson Lane in the Village Shopping Center. It’s now a bowling entertainment center.

Sorry. Your room’s not ready

Hey, Bud! I would like to book a room for two at your hotel November 15-21 after our wedding. We have prepared pictures of how the room should be decorated. Can you let us know if this is possible?

—Gmail address in Canada

Come on down. But I’m not much of a decorator. Also, I am not a hotel, eh?
