Fort Worth is Texas’ No. 1 for — pizza? Here’s where to find National Pizza Day deals
National Pizza Day almost seems like every day in Fort Worth.
As it turns out, Fort Worth is ranked Texas’ No. 1 city for pizza.
In the same week as National Pizza Day Feb. 9, the Austin-based website Lawnstarter.com ranked Fort Worth best in Texas and No. 23 nationwide, mainly on the strength of top-ranked pizzerias such as Cane Rosso, Zoli’s, Slice City Pizza or north Fort Worth’s Pizza Buzz.
Most pizzerias were serving Pizza Day deals this week on Feb. 9. If you missed out, be ready for even more Fort Worth pizza in the coming year:
▪ Just open is the newly expanded dining room and bar at Olivella’s Pizza and Wine, 4910 Camp Bowie Blvd. It’s a simple pizza-and-wine bistro that already feels old and comfy; 817-439-7676, olivellas.com.
▪ Pie Tap Pizza Workshop + Bar, 1301 W, Magnolia Ave., a Dallas-based pizza and rotisserie chicken restaurant known for inexpensive lunches, half-price “meatball Monday” and $12 Tuesday specials; pie-tap.com.
▪ The return of Fireside Pies, opening at 628 Harrold St. near Snooze in the Left Bank shopping center after 12 years in Crockett Row; firesidepies.com.
Fort Worth is also double-deckered with traditional pizza restaurants, such as timeless Dallas-based Campisi’s, perennial Fort Worth favorite Mama’s and an all-time favorite for its old-time crisp-crust all-you-can-eat buffet, Parton’s.
(Arlington’s Candlelite Inn also has 65 years of pizza history and cozy booths.)
A $12 special at Cane Rosso
Fort Worth’s most nationally recognized pizzerias are Cane Rosso and Zoli’s, and both loaded up the menu with Pizza Day deals and February specials:
Cane Rosso, 815 W. Magnolia Ave., Fort Worth, and 200 N. East St., Arlington, sold its habanero-honey pizza for $12 on Feb. 9 and rolls out two pizzas of the month for February.
One is the “Frenchie,” a gruyere-and-caramelized-onion pizza with the flavors of French onion soup.
But the highlight is the new strawberry-cheesecake dessert pizza, joining Cane Rosso’s distinctive lineup of wood-fired dessert pies.

At Zoli’s Pizza, the ‘Darth Tater’
Zoli’s Pizza, 3501 Hulen St., also was offering habanero-honey pizzas for $12 on Feb, 9.
Zoli’s, which serves both New York-style and Neapolitan-style pizzas, is offering a monthly special named the “Darth Tater” — a pizza with sliced potatos, cheeses, bacon and chives.
Also new at Zoli’s: apple pie calzones. It serves lunch and dinner daily, including pastas and burgers; 817-402-0050, zolispizza.com.
