A new brewpub will open by fall in the Village at Camp Bowie shopping center, 6333 Camp Bowie Blvd. Burleson-based Old Texas Brewing Co. will open its second location. It’s where Baker St. Pub closed years ago, in a huge space near Sunset Drive and a Sprouts grocery only a few blocks from popular Wild Acre Brewing.

Florida’s Maple Street Biscuit Co. is now open at 967 Keller Parkway, serving Southern-style biscuits, biscuit sandwiches, waffles and egg “frittaffles.” It started as an independent restaurant but is now a Cracker Barrel spinoff.
Options for Mother’s Day: Towne, Mercury
Hey, Bud! Where’s left for Mother’s Day?
—Late planner
Towne Grill, 9365 Rain Lily Trail in Alliance Town Center, is the best bet. It’s from the same chefs as The Tavern and Pacific Table. Downtown, Mercury Chophouse still had good availability, and the Omni buffet had a few tables. Or try somewhere like Campisi’s Restaurant, 6150 Camp Bowie Blvd. The list is published online at dfw.com/eatsbeat and was in print last week.
