Now we know when Fred’s Texas Cafe is reopening on the west side: Here’s the date

Fred’s opening date set in Fort Worth

Hey, Bud! Do we know any more about when the new Fred’s Texas Cafe or the Paris Coffee Shop are reopening?

—Just about everybody everywhere

Fred’s opening date is now set: May 21. The new location is 7101 Camp Bowie Blvd. West, in a long-ago Steak & Ale that recently was home to Buffalo West. (The northside Fred’s is open daily at 2730 Western Center Blvd.) The Paris Coffee Shop, 704 W. Magnolia Ave., is also talking about a late May reopening but that’s not firm.

Standard Service restaurant new on Texas 114

Hey, Bud! We live in Trophy Club. Could we see a little more attention to those of us in the hinterlands?

—Jim, in the hinterlands

Standard Service, 2980 Texas 114, is the new place to try there. It’s open for dinner weekdays, brunch through dinner weekends. It’s a cousin to HG Sply Co. and Leela’s Wine Bar.

Fort Worth Zoo Beastro set for May 20

Hey, Bud! Is the Fort Worth Zoo having their Beastro restaurant festival this year?

—Martin, Fort Worth

Beastro returns May 20, but we don’t know any restaurants yet. You’ll just have to trust the zoo that it’ll be worth the $110 tickets for food, open bar and music from Big City Outlaws, the Georgia Bridgwater Orchestra and Phil Pritchett. Orderat fortworthzoo.org.
