A redo for Charleston’s in Fort Worth

Hey, Bud! What’s up at Charleston’s? Some sort of remodeling?

—A Tanglewood foodie

Charleston’s Restaurant, 3020 S. Hulen St., is the only regional location of an Oklahoma City steakhouse and grill. It’s getting a slight update after 24 years, from a 1998 burgundy-and-brass look to 21st-century black-and-brushed-nickel with LED lighting. The booths, layout and menu won’t change, and neither will the Key lime pie. It’ll reopen in early March, with a whole new patio to follow.

The best nachos? They’re everywhere

Hey, Bud! Where are the good nachos?

—Gordon, Fort Worth

Years ago, the Star-Telegram ranked Fiesta Mexican Restaurant, 3233 Hemphill St., as the best for nachos. We’ve got more nachos now, and places like Mesero, Paloma Suerte, La Playa Maya and The Original do a great job. So does Fred’s. (Don’t miss the Joe T.’s “Joe’s nachos,” piled high bar-style instead of their regular wide, flat version.)

Go back and try that restaurant again

Hey, Bud! Went to [name] restaurant tonight and it was closed. Did it shut down?

—Concerned reader

That restaurant is always closed Mondays. Chill.
