Drew’s, in its 35th year at 5701 Curzon Ave., took a break in October but has reopened to serve Fort Worth’s favorite takeout chicken. It’s open for lunch Tuesdays through Saturdays, carryout only. It’s two blocks south of Camp Bowie Boulevard.

There is no other chicken-fried steak anywhere like the one at Mary’s, 119 Grant Ave, in Strawn, but that’s also an 80-mile drive from downtown Fort Worth.
