More restaurants for Thanksgiving in the Fort Worth area. Plus the Koffee Kup in Hico
This year, it’s tough to find Thanksgiving dinner.
Whether you’re looking for a table or a turkey, they’re in increasingly short supply,
Some custom barbecue smokehouses can sell only hams. Restaurants are offering other menu options, and nobody is quite sure whether there’ll be enough turkey to keep serving it past the Dallas Cowboys’ kickoff.
Mainly, book a table now.
If you’re looking for somewhere to go with a large family, you’re probably headed somewhere like Luby’s Cafeteria or the Ol’ South Pancake House.
As of midweek, the only white-tablecloth restaurants with room for large groups on Thanksgiving were Ruth’s Chris Steak House and Wicked Butcher in Fort Worth or the Keg in Arlington, along with several Brazilian steakhouses that will add turkey for the day.
Check opentable.com and resy.com, or call your favorite restaurant. And keep trying. It never hurts to ask.
The big list of 40 local restaurants open Thanksgiving, with menus and prices, appeared in this space Oct. 29. It’s online at star-telegram.com/eatsbeat.
