What’s changed at Angelo’s Barbecue in Fort Worth? Here’s a list to jog your memory

Hey, Bud! Do you remember what year Angelo’s Barbecue had to remove the sawdust from the floor?

— @DMon2112 on Twitter

Here’s the list of slow but steady changes since old faithful Angelo’s opened in 1958 at 2533 White Settlement Road: Pork ribs, 1973; table service, 1974; sawdust gone, 1978; air conditioning, 1992; light beer, 1992; smoked chicken, 1994; credit cards and fountain drinks, 2008; baked potatoes, 2017.

Hey, Bud! When Monday does the new Texas Monthly “50 Best Barbecue Joints” come out?

— Hungry already

In time for lunch, I hope. (Although the best-known barbecue restaurants open Mondays are the older favorites — Angelo’s, Cousin’s, Heim on Magnolia Avenue, Jambo’s on Division Street and Railhead.)
