That new Enchiladas Olé location is near opening; also, here’s a Clown Burger update

Opening day nears at Enchiladas Olé

Hey, Bud! The new Enchiladas Olé near me looks ready to open. Any word?

—Darrell, North Richland Hills

The homespun craft sauces of Enchiladas Olé might be simmering in two weeks at 9005 North Tarrant Parkway in North Richland Hills, the second location for Mary Perez’s highly rated restaurant. But it’s a little family place — don’t pack it yet. It still needs a few practice runs. (The current Olé is open for lunch and dinner daily and Saturdays, lunch Sundays at 2418 Forest Park Blvd.)

Comeback of the Clown

Hey, Bud! What’s been up with Clown Burger?

—Barry, Fort Worth

The iconic retro burger grill at 5020 Stanley Keller Road has been beset with problems, most attributed to the electricity provider. It should be up and running by now, and it needs your support. (Same for other mom-and-pop burger grills, such as Burger Box. When you see long lines at the chains, look for a local owner.)

Country drives are great, but check first

Hey, Bud! Would it be safer to drive out in the country for Thanksgiving? Someplace like Jake & Dorothy’s?

—Sharon, Hurst

It’s safer the farther you go west, but college towns are having their own coronavirus spikes. Jake & Dorothy’s, the classic Stephenville chicken-fried steak cafe, just reopened for dinner only but might not be in full gear by the holiday. I haven’t heard back from the Koffee Kup in Hico but will keep asking around. (Maybe Eats Beat readers will have more suggestions.)
