A new pickleball and chicken palace will open in 2021 between Dallas and Fort Worth

Chicken N Pickle, a celebrated game complex from Kansas City with a rotisserie chicken restaurant, will open next year in Grand Prairie, the company announced this week.

Combining pickleball courts with other sports and a play yard, Chicken N Pickle is a popular family and events center. The first Texas location opened this year in San Antonio.

Chicken N Pickle will open in the 2900 block of Esplanade, off the Bush Turnpike south of Pioneer Parkway.

The Wichita Eagle described the location there as a “sports complex, a party venue, a recreation center, an outdoor concert spot and a place for games” where “you can bring your dog. You can lounge outdoors. You can exercise or not. You can eat or not. You can sit wherever you want, stay as long as you want, and pretty much do whatever you want.”

That’s an 80,000-square-foot complex with six indoor pickleball courts in a giant arena, plus a concert venue and a giant lawn.

The menu includes rotisserie chicken, sandwiches, salads and bar food, with a bar and meeting areas.
