Here’s a $19 soufflé lunch, a $39 dinner and more Restaurant Week deals in Fort Worth
The 24th DFW Restaurant Week is also the very first offering takeout.
So right away, I had a question.
How can Rise nº3 serve souffles to go?
That won’t work, even for a restaurant as good as Rise.
But the southwest Fort Worth “salon de souffle” is still serving its fluffy specialty in the restaurant and also serving takeout entree salads, soups and desserts as part of $19 lunch and $39 dinner menus for the annual dining promotion Aug. 28-Sept. 27.
If you really must have a souffle, and it’s safe for you to go out, go when Rise isn’t as busy. Book a Yelp.com reservation either at 11 a.m. or in late afternoon, and get a table a safe distance from anyone else.
But even if you’re ordering takeout, Rise, 5135 Monahans Ave., is one of the best buys of DFW Restaurant Week.
The annual event features about 20 restaurants offering both takeout and dine-in specials this year, donating 10% of sales to the Lena Pope children’s agency.
“This is the time every year when we see a lot of first-time guests who want to try us out,” said Brian Boulanger, the longtime manager.
Rise was off to a great start this year before the coronavirus pandemic and bounced back faster than other restaurants in the Shops at Clearfork.
“We’re getting a lot of our friends coming back,” Boulanger said.
The restaurant has even extended its popular summer pistachio souffle for anyone who missed it.
During Restaurant Week, which really lasts a month, the Rise dinner menu features a choice of three souffles: a ham-and-Gruyere, mushroom or cauliflower-and-brie. There’s also an large entree salad with chicken.
Before dinner, enjoy a cheese plate or glass of wine with marshmallow or French onion soup, or a small salad. Afterward, there’s creme brulee, chocolate lava cake or a cassis or Reese’s souffle.
All that costs $39, which is one of the reasons Rise is always busy during the extended special. (Each dinner includes a $4 donation to Lena Pope.)
At lunch until 4 p.m. daily, the $19 menu offers a choice of two courses. The entrees are the ham-and-Gruyere or sun-dried tomato souffles, a large salad with chicken or a ham-and-cheese sandwich on French baguette with cornichons. There’s either a soup or side salad to start, or one of the four desserts.
In Dallas, Rise in Inwood Village is an everyday lunch cafe.
In Fort Worth, we trend to consider it our fine French restaurant, along with Paris 7th and Saint-Émilion.
If you only go now and then, here’s an opportunity to go more often, or take home an elegant lunch or dinner.
It’s open for lunch and dinner daily; 817-737-7473, risesouffle.com.
