New west Fort Worth restaurant serves funnel-cake French toast, 7-day breakfast
A new cafe in west Fort Worth promises a really good daily breakfast in a fresh, updated setting.
FiVi’s Kitchen, 5724 Locke Ave., serves above-average homestyle basics every morning: fluffy pancakes, eggs with peppered bacon and omelets or tacos in eight varieties.
The show-stopper breakfast item is funnel-cake French toast ($10.99). But the simple pancakes with a hint of vanilla are some of the best on the west side.
Everything about FiVi’s is a notch up from tired diners or chains. Instead of stale coffee, FiVi’s serves an Segafredo Italian roast.
Besides pancakes-bacon-and-eggs ($7.99), the most common breakfast order is the “Good for Ya” spinach-mushroom-Jack omelet. It’s also available as a scramble, burrito or tacos, all for the same $9.99.
Other options include migas with chorizo, chili-and-cheese, chicken-spinach-Jack or hamburger-and-pepper Jack. There’s also a “meat lovers’” omelet or taco plate with bacon, ham, sausage and cheddar.
There’s also a simple lunch menu with a Greek salad ($8.99), a fried or grilled chicken tender salad ($11.99), chicken-fried steak ($13.99) or a choice of five burgers.
For dessert, there’s bread pudding or Blue Bell ice cream shakes, floats or freezes.
FiVi’s Kitchen is open daily for breakfast and lunch.
It’s one of few breakfast cafes on the west side open Sundays; 817-420-6118, fiviskitchen.com.
