Lupe Tortilla open in north Fort Worth

Hey, Bud! What can you tell is about the new Lupe Tortilla on North Freeway? They are so busy.

—Blanca, Fort Worth

Lupe Tortilla, 9409 North Freeway near the Presidio shops, is the newest Houston restaurant to expand here. It serves margaritas and fajitas but adds better options, such as filet mignon, jalapeno sausage, lobster tail or crab-stuffed shrimp. Houston diners swear by the three-pepper-cheese steak with jalapeno-serrano-habanero Jack cheese. The namesake tortillas are fresh and house-made. It’s a welcome alternative to soulless corporate chains.

The original Pulido’s is hemmed in by road ramps, but accessible off Vickery Boulevard or Montgomery Street.

Pulido’s in Benbrook is open, including El Jardin

Hey, Bud! Is the original Pulido’s on Pulido Street ever going to reopen?

—Lucille, Fort Worth

Pulido’s Benbrook location, 5051 Benbrook Highway, is spiffed up and open now. The El Jardin garden patio is safe for distanced dining. Saginaw and Stephenville locations have reopened, with others to follow.

No clear winner for best crabcakes

Hey, Bud! Where would you go for great crabcakes?

—Rick, Fort Worth

Eddie V’s Prime Seafood or Capital Grille. Both are owned by the same Florida chain. But the best deal is the happy-hour bar menu at the Silver Fox. Piola in the Cultural District is underrated.
