Eats Beat

How could Hurtado Barbecue in Arlington get any better? How about late-night tacos?

Hurtado Barbecue is going late-night.

Arlington pitmaster Brandon Hurtado is adding a bar alongside his Urban Union barbecue restaurant.

Soon, he’ll be selling late-night tacos.

It’s a natural extension to his barbecue restaurant, he said.

The bar — the working name is Front Street Tavern, but that may change — will also serve brisket, pulled pork or barbacoa tacos and tostadas.

Don’t expect platters. But it’ll give Hurtado a way to serve “Mexi-cue” after the lunch crowds file through.

It’ll include a large patio and a full bar with cocktails.

For July 4, Hurtado Barbecue is offering special family packs for four people ($65, 1 pound each of brisket and pork plus two sausage links and sides), for 10 people ($150) or an “ultimate” pack with a whole brisket, rack of ribs and sides ($180).

Hurtado Barbecue is keeping regular hours this weekend.

It’s open at lunch Wednesdays through Sundays; 682-323-5141, hurtadobbq.com.
