Eats Beat

Where can you find migas all day? Or pancakes? At this vegan ‘diner’ in Fort Worth

The Magnolia Avenue night crowd is now also a morning crowd, and that means Spiral Diner is open for breakfast.

Once known for veggie burgers and salads at one of the best vegan restaurants in America, Spiral opens at 7 a.m. daily for pancakes, migas and a diner menu of familiar dishes made with tofu and healthy choices.

The pancakes ($8.59 short stack, $10.18 with blueberries, pecans or chocolate chips) have always been a Magnolia favorite on Sundays.

Now they’re available all day every day, even at dinner.

Migas ($12.99) are a tofu scramble with corn chips, vegetables and black beans and salsa.

There’s a “lumberjack” breakfast with biscuits, sausage and tofu scramble ($12.99) and a pancake sandwich with cheese and bacon, sort of a Spiral Diner version of a McGriddle.

Spiral Diner is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily in the hospital district of the Near Southside area; 1314 W. Magnolia Ave., 817-332-8834, spiraldiner.com.
