Goldee’s Barbecue opens next weekend

Hey, Bud! Wasn’t some guy from Austin going to reopen that old barbecue place down Dick Price Road? Young guy, I think.

—Roy, Arlington

Goldee’s Barbecue, 4645 Dick Price Road south of Kennedale, is tentatively set to open Feb. 15. and open Fridays through Sundays afterward. Dylan Taylor, Lane Milne and Jonny White have experience at Austin restaurants such as La Barbecue, Terry Black’s and Micklethwait Craft Meats.

Hurtado BBQ, Enchiladas Ole opening soon

Hey, Bud! Isn’t that other Arlington place also opening?

—Nobody, but I knew you’d ask

Hurtado Barbecue, 205 E. Front St. in the Urban Union district, is tentatively opening Feb. 22, but these dates might change. (And that’s about when the new Enchiladas Ole is expected to open at 2418 Forest Park Blvd.)

Paris 7th, Ellerbe, Bonnell’s, Grace at the top

Hey, Bud! If you could get a reservation, where would you go Valentine’s Day?

—David, Burleson

Paris 7th or Ellerbe, without a doubt. And Bonnell’s and Grace are great for steaks, But we’ve also gone to Istanbul Grill — that corner table with windows on both sides is the best — and to Piola for Italian. For lunch, Cafe Modern, Ellerbe or Bonnell’s.
