Yes, there’s still a nice Italian restaurant with soft piano music. It’s in Arlington
Piccolo Mondo still an old-time Italian restaurant
Hey, Bud! Do we have a real Italian restaurant here anymore since La Piazza closed?
—Terry, Fort Worth
We still have one of our best Italian restaurants ever: Piccolo Mondo in Arlington. Antonio Capaccioli opened it in 1983, and it still has that white-tablecloth, soft-piano-music atmosphere like the Fort Worth Italian restaurants you miss. It’s open weekdays for lunch and dinner, weekends for dinner at 829 E. Lamar Blvd. near Whole Foods Market north of AT&T Stadium.
Bouillabaisse is tough to find; here’s a possibility
Hey, Bud! Any restaurant in the area serve bouillabaisse?
—Jim, Fort Worth
It was on the seasonal menu at Clay Pigeon in the Foundry District in Fort Worth ($28), but call first. Also, it’s on the current dinner menu at the new Wishbone & Flynt.
Salads, cheeses at new 38 & Vine wine bar
Hey, Bud! I read about 38 & Vine. Does it have food?
—Sherry, Fort Worth
The new 38 & Vine wine bar in the Foundry District is a serve-yourself bistro where you pour own wines and pay with a chip card. The menu is changing, so I’m not sure what they’re serving now, but originally they served a salad trio, a kale-apricot salad, hummus and cheeses. It’s at 212 Carroll St.
