That South Main Village restaurant is finally near opening. What’s a Wishbone & Flynt?
South Main Village’s first all-day anchor restaurant opens next week, and Wishbone & Flynt will be busy.
Chef Stefon Rishel has a big following from his past work at the now-closed Max’s Wine Dive.
This is his own place, tucked into a nook on Bryan Avenue near downtown across from the Shipping & Receiving music club.
It’s an ambitious effort serving all day, starting with weekday breakfast or weekend brunch.
The weekday morning menu includes breakfast tacos or bacon-and-eggs, with a flight of tequila shots (this is South Main Village, after all).
Brunch — a Rishel favorite at Max’s — includes espresso French toast, chilaquiles or a roasted chile relleno.
Dinner is where Rishel’s touch comes into focus. Entrees include barbecue shrimp, shrimp fra diavolo, steaks and bouillabaisse.
The lunch menu includes a white cheddar burger, chicken or grouper sandwiches, a pasta salad and a Caesar.
It’s not a big menu, but Wishbone is just opening.
From the start, it’ll be known for the comfy back bar.
