Neighbor’s House Grocery open 7 days downtown

Hey, Bud! What’s the best place for lunch around the office?

—New guy

This is not only the best place for us, but it might be the best new place in Fort Worth. Neighbor’s House Grocery, new at West Sixth Street and Lamar Street, has a sandwich line, daily soups and a daily and Sunday lunch line. It opens at 9 a.m. daily with — a big plus — free parking in the old motor bank across Sixth Street. (Also, Little Red Wasp is a good lower downtown lunch spot.)

Kid-friendly Austin burger grill coming to Golden Triangle

Hey, Bud! Where’s the new Hat Creek Burger opening? We are in corporate food hell in Presidio Junction.

—@marzthyme on Twitter

Hat Creek Burger from Austin lays on a kid-friendly cowboy theme, with burgers called the “big hat” or the “cowboy hat,” chicken, salads and fries. It’s open in Mansfield at 3321 E. Broad St. and coming soon to 870 Texas 114 Business in Roanoke and also to the Golden Triangle Shopping Center in north Fort Worth

Chicken Salad Chick comes to Ridglea; Carroll Street next

Hey, Bud! What’s going into Montgomery Plaza in the old deli space? I see construction.

—Yolanda, Fort Worth

That space at 501 Carroll St. is about to become the home of yet another new Alabama-based Chicken Salad Chick, replacing a Baker Bros. It’ll open soon, but first comes the new Chicken Salad Chick, opening Jan. 28 at 6124 Camp Bowie Blvd.
