Here’s a BBQ restaurant that serves Sundays, too. And it’s in Arlington
On Sunday or Monday, go to Jambo’s on Division in Arlington
Hey, Bud! I went by Jambo’s on Pioneer Parkway in Pantego Monday and it was closed?
—BBQ guy
The Jambo’s BBQ Shack at 1724 W. Division St. in Arlington is the reliable 7-day-a-week barbecue stop in the Jambo’s family. The Pantego location has a different operator, and it’s closed Sundays and Mondays. The Jambo’s mothership location in Rendon also only opens Tuesday through Saturday. (The Division Street location just added an excellent house-made jalapeno sausage.)
Paula’s is the place in Arlington if you miss Casa Jose
Hey, Bud! Looks like Daddy Buelo’s in Arlington is closed?
—@kdfw015 on Twitter
Closed long ago, I thought. Folks who miss the old days of Casa Jose Cafe now go to Paula’s Mexican Restaurant, 1224 W. Arkansas Lane, the last holdout of Casa Jose alumni. It’s open for breakfast and lunch daily except Monday.
More struggles for the new Dixie House Mansfield
Hey, Bud! What’s still holding up the new Dixie House Cafe near Mansfield?
—Many readers
When the Dixie House Cafe added a location at 8120 Rendon-Bloodworth Road (Farm Road 1187) near Mansfield, the operators thought it’d be open in weeks. Weeks have turned into months because the rural septic system wasn’t ready. The new plan is to open in January.
