In search of Greek and Indian restaurants: ‘Hey, Bud!’ takes reader questions

Hey, Bud! We’re in Weatherford and we miss Indian and Greek restaurants. Any recommendations on the western side of Fort Worth?

—Tracy, Weatherford

Nish! Mediterranean Grill is everybody’s new recommendation near the River District in west Fort Worth. It’s at 4913 Ohio Garden Road in River Oaks, on the corner at River Oaks Boulevard. Gyros Greek Cafe, 9570 Clifford St. off Loop 820 near White Settlement, has high social-media ratings but I haven’t gone. (Come on downtown and try the similar Istanbul Grill.) There’s not really an Indian restaurant out west.

Hey, Bud! We’re looking for a good burger in Las Colinas around Interstate 635 and North MacArthur Boulevard. Any ideas? —Charles, Arlington

Since it’s Fort Worth-based, I’ll put in a plug for the burger at Cork & Pig Tavern’s Las Colinas location, 5224 N. O’Connor Blvd. in the heart of Las Colinas. There’s a Shake Shack at 6781 N. MacArthur Blvd., and the legendary Coppell Deli is a few miles away at 449 W. Bethel Road.

Hey, Bud! There’s an event in Azle this weekend featuring Stefon Rishel. What’s he doing?

—Azle reader

Rishel is opening a new restaurant in South Main Village named Wishbone & Flynt. In the meantime, he’s doing mesquite-smoked shrimp ceviche Saturday for the Azle Taste Tour: seven chefs in five home kitchens. It’s a $30 ticket at 11 a.m.: Buy online at communitycaringcenter.com or at Azle Elementary.
