OMG Tacos from Dallas will open this weekend at 3011 Bledsoe St., next to Zenna Thai. (No, I don’t know were you should park. But the new city meters keep spaces churning.)

Hey, Bud! What about Sammies BBQ?

New owner Sam Gibbins is expected to reopen Sammies any day now, maybe next week. The signs on his old Smoke Pit say it “moved” to the new location at 3801 E. Belknap St., so expect a combination of old Sammies and Smoke Pit atmosphere, the double-cut pork chop special and of course a few familiar Smoke Pit faces.

Hey, Bud1 I keep hearing about a good little place at a motel on Northside Drive.

Las Pericas is in a former motel coffee shop at a Motel 6, but don’t let that fool you. The owners turn out first-rate Tex-Mex and Mexican breakfasts and lunches with two fiery table salsas (green and red)
