First you get out and vote.
Then you get out your fork.
Rodeo Goat, Flying Fish, Bird Cafe and the Flying Saucer Beer Emporium are offering 10 percent off the food bill through Nov. 6 to anyone who wears an “I Voted” sticker, as a way to promote voting in the current general election.
Note that distinction — the 10 percent discount is for wearing a sticker. Not for voting.

That’s because it’s against federal law to offer any “incentive” to vote.
“We’re offering an incentive for people to wear the sticker,” said Dallas restaurateur Shannon Wynne, chief executive over the restaurants including four Tarrant County locations in Fort Worth and Arlington.
The company’s announcement says the promotion is “in support of good citizenship.”
“i want to get people motivated to vote,” Wynne said.
The restaurants will offer 10 percent off only on voting days.
Voting started Monday at any of 49 locations across Tarrant County and continues until 5 p.m. nightly this week, until 7 p.m. Saturday, until 4 p.m. Sunday and until 7 p.m. nightly next week through Nov. 2.
“I’m tired of the typical man-on-the-street having no idea who’s running against who. They’re not engaged. … I’d do anything to get them engaged and out to the polls,” Wynne said.
