A Hurts Donut Company location is coming to Fort Worth, and the Missouri 24-hour doughnut shop chain wants to make sure we know.

The company is offering “Scary Clown Delivery” of a dozen doughnuts, hand-delivered by a tall, masked clown straight out of either a horror movie or a Mardi Gras parade.

For now, the doughnuts are delivered from Hurts’ current location in Frisco. Hurts plans four more DFW locations, the next to open at a yet-undisclosed location in Fort Worth.

If you get a doughnut delivery from a scary clown, don’t turn it away: People stand in line an hour and more in Frisco for the extra-large, brightly iced doughnuts.

“October is for pranks,” Hurts writes on a Facebook page. “ … We know you know someone who deserves it.”

October is also for pumpkin, and Hurts’ Frisco store is selling pumpkin streusel doughnuts along with caramel-cream cheese.

Commenters on social media recommend flavors such as cherry cheesecake, peanut-butter-and-jelly, “Cookie Monster.” maple-bacon and “Grape Ball of Fire.”

The company already made friends in Fort Worth, selling a “Thin Blue Line” doughnut last month and giving all proceeds to the family of slain Fort Worth police officer Garrett Hull.

If you’re in Frisco, or craving doughnuts enough to drive there, Hurts is open 24 hours at 3288 W. Main St., off Teel Parkway west of the Dallas North Tollway; 469-214-8001, wannahurts.com
