Hey, Bud! Is Billy’s Oak Acres BBQ ever going to open?

Plenty of barbecue patrons

Life intervened for Billy Woodrich while he was moving his BBQ restaurant to Camp Bowie West. Now, he has a newborn son, Levi, along with a new barbecue restaurant, and Levi just happened to arrive first. The new Billy’s Oak Acres was awaiting inspections this week and may be open by mid-February at 7709 Camp Bowie Blvd. West.

Hey, Bud! I know you wrote about Mo’s Best Eatery reopening. Any relation to the old Mo’s years ago in southwest Arlington?

Alert Arlington reader

Not only is it the same Mo’s, it’s the same Mo. Moath “Mo” Zaben is back after nearly a two-year absence, serving burgers and Middle Eastern food at 4306 Matlock Road, south of Interstate 20, across from an electronics superstore.

Hey, Bud! Where can I find good venison chili?

Rudy, Grand Prairie

Lots of cooks make venison chili, but it’s not a common restaurant dish. Both Reata and Bonnell’s have served it on past menus, along with the Weatherford Downtown Cafe. I’m not sure any will have it again soon.

Hey, Bud! Where can I find good clams now that the Dive has taken them off the menu?

Troy, Fort Worth

I’ll have to throw this out to the Hey, Bud! audience. I know some high-end seafood restaurants serve clams, but I’m not sure about casual oyster bars.
