‘Accumulation’ of roaches found in latest Fort Worth inspections

A Fort Worth daycare kitchen was closed and an “accumulation” of cockroaches was found at another food establishment in the latest round of city health inspections, according to the inspection report.

The report compiled by the Star-Telegram contains data from May 17 through May 23 and 1,107 inspections.

Fort Worth’s inspections function on a demerit system: when the total of demerits exceeds 30, the restaurant must correct the worst violations immediately and fix the rest within 48 hours.

The kitchen at Little Inspirers Montessori, located at 3312 Park Lake Drive, had a score of 7. The food facility was closed due to a lack of hot water in the kitchen, and must remain closed until that violation has been fixed, according to the inspection report.

Three establishments had problems with roaches:

  • Quick Wok Chinese Restaurant, located at 7800 Crowley Road, had a score of 24. Both alive and dead cockroaches were observed in the kitchen and at the service window.
  • Los Pastores Restaurant, located at 3806 East Rosedale Street, had a score of 22. Inspectors noted an “accumulation” of cockroaches underneath dry storage racks.
  • Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken, located at 7289 South Hulen Street, had a score of 16. Roaches were found in the bathroom.
