North Richland Hills restaurant known for steak and catfish closes last location
Sweetie Pie’s Ribeyes in North Richland Hills is about to close.
The restaurant, known for steak, chicken and catfish, announced on Wednesday that it will be closing its doors for good on Friday, May 15 at 9 p.m. This follows the closure of the Sweetie Pie’s Ribeyes location in Decatur in November 2025.
Sweetie Pie’s Ribeyes was operated by the Vineyard family, the same family behind Babe’s Chicken Dinner House and Bubba’s Cooks Country. The Decatur location was open for 19 years before closing. The North Richland Hills restaurant opened in 2021.
The Vineyard family wrote in a news release posted on Facebook that the closing is due to “many operational and financial challenges facing the restaurant industry today.”
The family plans to focus on a new and better concept, in the same building at 6720 N.E. Loop 820.
What will replace Sweetie Pie’s Ribeyes in North Richland Hills?
A Sweetie Pie’s Ribeyes spokesperson told the Star-Telegram that the new concept will require renovations to the existing restaurant, but they are not ready to announce what the new concept is.
“While difficult, this decision allows us to turn our attention toward developing an exciting new concept at this location — one we believe will better serve the community and the future of our company,” the news release states.
Employees have the option to stay and work at the new concept or, go to work at other Vineyard family-owned restaurants like Babe’s Chicken or Bubba’s.
“This is not goodbye; it is simply the beginning of a new chapter,” the Vinyard family wrote in the news release.
