Rodent droppings, other issues found during Tarrant County health inspections
Inspectors found problems with roaches at one Tarrant County food establishment and six others had low scores in the latest round of county health inspections, according to the inspection report.
The report, compiled by the Star-Telegram, contains data from March 29 through April 4 and 52 inspections.
Tarrant County health inspections function on a demerit system. Demerits are subtracted from a starting score of 100, which is considered perfect. A score of 70 is considered extremely poor. The county health department inspects all food establishments in the county except those in Fort Worth, Arlington, Euless and North Richland Hills.
Rodent droppings were found at Sugary Bliss N Brew, 694 Alta Mere Drive in Fort Worth. Inspectors noted droppings in cabinets, containers of coffee filters and open bags of caramel frappe powder, according to the report. An employee began cleaning immediately and throwing away contaminated food. The establishment scored a 70.
Another Quik Sak location in the county was noted to have issues with its drink station. Quik Sak 1, located at 898 Cherry Lane in White Settlement, was ordered to close the station until it could be reinspected by the health department, according to the report. In last week’s inspection report, two other Quik Sak locations in White Settlement were also required to close their drink stations. The establishment scored a 73.
