Swig, the trendy ‘dirty soda’ shop, is opening another Fort Worth location

North Texas soda lovers are about to get another spot to satisfy their sweet tooth.

Swig, a fast-growing, Utah-based chain that turned “dirty sodas” into a national trend, is preparing to open its second Fort Worth location, which will be the 19th Swig in the Metroplex.

Known for its oversized drinks with creative add-ins like coconut syrup in Dr Pepper or strawberry purée in Diet Coke, the brand has built a cult following across social media and in cities where it has opened.

Swig now operates more than 140 locations nationwide, with Texas emerging as one of its fastest-growing markets.

What is Swig dirty soda, and why is it so popular?

Swig was founded in 2010 in St. George, Utah, with the idea of taking everyday fountain drink and turning them into something customizable with flavors, creams and fruit puree mixes.

From there, it spread across Utah and into other states, proving the appeal of “dirty sodas” went far beyond its hometown. “This unique blend offers a refreshing twist on the classic soda shop experience,” the company says.

Despite the name, a dirty soda isn’t anything risqué. It’s simply a soft drink that’s dressed up with extras.

A Diet Coke, for example, might be mixed with coconut and lime syrup and topped with a splash of cream.

The trend first exploded in Utah, where members of the Latter-day Saint community often avoid alcohol, coffee and tea. Soda shops like Swig became popular alternatives, offering a social, customizable drink option that fit within those restrictions.

The combinations are endless, and that’s part of the appeal. Swig fans treat the menu like a mix-and-match playground, customizing sodas the way you might build your own coffee drink.

Swig’s most popular drinks include:

  • Texas Tab, made with Dr Pepper, vanilla, and coconut cream.
  • Big Al, Diet Coke with coconut and fresh lime.
  • Raspberry Dream, Dr Pepper mixed with raspberry purée and coconut cream.
  • Spice Spice Baby, a seasonal fall favorite made with Dr Pepper, vanilla, cinnamon, pumpkin pie sauce, and half-and-half.

The menu goes beyond sodas. Customers can also order energy drinks with fruity syrups, boba teas in different flavors, sparkling-water refreshers, and snacks such as Swig’s sugar cookies and salted pretzel bites, which have become staples for many fans.

Where is the new Swig location in Fort Worth?

Fort Worth’s second Swig location is “coming soon” on the southeastern side of the city.

The address is 7525 Summer Creek Drive, just north of Sycamore School Road and just off the Chisholm Trail Parkway. An official opening date hasn’t been announced, but records show the store is about 1,500 square feet with a drive-thru.

The Summer Creek location will be the chain’s second in Fort Worth, joining an existing shop on North Blue Mound Road in far north Fort Worth. The closest other North Texas Swigs are in Keller, Hurst and Arlington.

How much do Swig drinks cost?

Prices at Swig are generally on the affordable side. A 16-ounce soda costs about $1.65, while a large, 44-ounce drink runs around $2.20.

Customers who want to make Swig a regular stop can also purchase a reusable tumbler for about $35, which can be refilled on future visits.

Beyond sodas, the menu includes energy drinks branded as “Refreshers” and “Revivers,” boba teas, and snack options like cookies and pretzel bites. That means you can grab a drink-and-cookie combo without spending much more than the cost of a fast-food meal.
