Bon Appétit just recognized this North Texas pizza restaurant. Here’s what’s on the menu
A North Texas pizzeria with Bangladeshi flavor is garnering national attention for its pizza innovation.
Popular food magazine Bon Appétit recently recognized SauceBros Pizza in Plano for its innovative cuisine featuring “warmly spiced Bengali beef.”
The feature highlighted eight nationwide pizzerias that used non-traditional ingredients to create unique craft pizzas.
The owners and chefs, Redwan Huda and Labib Tarafdar, are friends who were both born in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
They opened the pizzeria in 2022 with a goal to showcase the true flavors of their homeland.
The SauceBros menu offers Bangladeshi pizzas and fusion pies for takeout at 3115 W. Parker Road. Most of the restaurant’s menu items were inspired during the pandemic, owners told Bon Appétit.
Some of those menu items include balachao, a fermented shrimp dish that brings mozzarella “roaring to life”; pungent mustard oil; three-day fermented crust topped with cilantro pesto; beef slow-cooked with garam masala; and mushrooms that have been sautéed in ghee.
The pizzeria has also demonstrated willingness to experiment beyond strictly Bengali flavors. They’ve recently developed new pies inspired by Alfredo spaghetti, beef tacos, and Korean barbecue.
With menu items like Naga Habenero Chicken, Garlic Ghee Mushroom, and Bengali Beef Pesto pizza, SauceBros is helping redefine the boundaries of America’s cultural cuisine. Other menu items include a beef chopped cheese wrap, a paneer wrap, a chicken wrap and a mushroom wrap.
