1 Arlington restaurant fails inspection with score of 51 for ‘major sanitation issues’
One Arlington restaurant failed its health inspection between April 16-22 but no restaurants were closed, according to data from the city compiled by the Star-Telegram.
Wendy’s at 409 W. Abram St. scored 51 during the recent inspection. Restaurants that score 75 or less require a follow-up inspection, and 70 is considered extremely poor.
Food wasn’t maintained at the proper temperature at the Wendy’s and there were “major sanitation issues” leading to the low score, a city of Arlington spokesperson said. There were also violations related to hand washing and hair restraints.
Many of the violations were corrected while the inspector was still on site, the spokesperson said, and the restaurant scored 84 in an April 20 follow-up inspection.
Gangnam Rice at 4638 S. Cooper St. passed with a score of 75 on April 17 but required a follow-up inspection.
Snappy Food Mart at 5700 S. Collins St. scored 93 on April 21 but will need a follow-up inspection. Even though the establishment scored well overall, the spokesperson said building and equipment repairs flagged in a previous inspection were still outstanding.
Of the 46 establishments inspected, six scored a perfect 100.
