Dallas-based Tex-Mex restaurant Blue Goose Cantina to close its original location
Family-owned Tex-Mex chain Blue Goose Cantina will close its original location at 2905 Greenville Ave. in Dallas this March.
Peterson Management Group, the parent company of Blue Goose Cantina, announced the closure Tuesday and said the restaurant’s Greenville doors will shutter March 19. The annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration during the Pub Crawl and Block Party will still be hosted at the location on March 11.
The Greenville Avenue building was recently purchased from long-time owners Fred Reisberg Investments Ltd., Peterson Management Group said in a statement. After negotiations, Peterson Management Group was unable to reach an agreement for lease renewal with the new owner.
All employees will be offered positions at other Blue Goose Cantina locations and at sister restaurant chain Aw Shucks, Peterson Management Group said.
Established in 1984, Blue Goose Cantina spent nearly 40 years at the Greenville Avenue location.
“It has been our pleasure to serve neighbors at our Greenville Avenue location for the past 39 years,” Nick Peterson, Peterson Management Group CEO, said. “There have been countless memories created by neighbors who have visited since my dad, Bob Peterson, and Scott Holyfield opened Blue Goose in 1984. Everything from date nights, family outings and after-work happy hours have been created here. We are appreciative of the Fred Reisberg Family Trust, and the valuable relationships we have made through the decades.”
