3 schools, 2 restaurants repeat violations in Tarrant County inspections; no closures

Three schools and two restaurants were required to take corrective actions in the latest health inspections for repeating violations from previous inspections, according to Tarrant County Public Health.

No restaurant was closed in the inspection period from Jan. 29 to Feb 11. No restaurant received more than 29 demerits. When the total exceeds 29, a follow-up inspection is required.

Tarrant County Public Health inspects and scores all restaurants in Tarrant County except for those located in Fort Worth, Arlington, Euless and North Richland Hills.

Of the 104 inspections, only Willis Lane Elementary School, at 1620 Willis Lane in Keller, was required to have a follow-up inspection.

Trinity Lakes Elementary School, at 2520 S. Precinct Line Road in Fort Worth, received a fourth notice as an inadequate flow and hot water for proper hand-washing was observed. The hot water failed to warm above 70 degrees Fahrenheit, rendering the sink unusable.

The school was provided with a notice to take corrective action including proper flow of water and for warm water to reach 100 degrees rapidly.

Burger Box 20, at 7700 Glenview Drive in Richland Hills, was issued a repeat violation for improperly thawing boxes of “frozen burger patties, hot dogs, and chickens.”

Lisa’s Chicken located at 628 E. Pipeline Road in Hurst was required to take corrective action for boxes of chicken thawing on the bottom shelf of a prep table. Macaroni and cheese packages sitting in the prep sink to thaw, but not in a pan under running water, were also observed. These issues were also observed in the last inspection.

Holy Trinity Catholic School, at 3750 William D Tate Ave. in Grapevine, was told to take corrective action due to a repeat violation for food in the hot hold unit ranging from 110 to 125 degrees. The hot hold unit needs to maintain temperatures of 135 degrees or above.

Grapevine Elementary, at 1801 Hall Johnson Road, was told to take corrective action for a repeat violation due to a warewash machine not consistently delivering sanitizing temperatures to assure proper warewash sanitizing.
