One Tarrant County restaurant not allowed to reopen after latest round of inspections

A Tarrant County restaurant was required to stay closed longer while inspectors wait for management to correct health code violations, according to data from the county compiled by the Star-Telegram.

TJ Mart in Lakeside, which was closed on Dec. 9, 2022, was told it had to ensure that a food manager is on duty, all food handlers have a certificate, install a hand sink in the ware washing room, get a certified food manager certificate and ensure that hot water at the prep area hand sink is between 100 and 110 degrees.

Of the 90 inspections conducted by Tarrant County inspectors between Jan. 1 and Jan. 7, only one other restaurant did poorly.

Shin Il Yori in Hurst scored 40 in its inspection. In Tarrant County inspections, restaurants that score more than 29 demerits are required to undergo a follow-up inspection.
