Two Fort Worth restaurants closed for serious health violations in recent inspections

Two Fort Worth restaurants were closed for serious health violations during inspections from Nov. 13 to Dec. 3, according to data from the city compiled by the Star-Telegram.

Krispy Catfish, located at 6208 McCart Ave., and Wabi Sabi Sushi, located at 2740 Western Center Blvd. #516, were required to close due to no hot water. Both restaurants passed follow-up inspections and were cleared to reopen.

Joe’s Pizza & Pasta at 7832 South Fwy., received 35 demerits on Nov. 14, the most given during this round of inspections. Violations included not storing food at a safe temperature and no running water at the hand sink.

Restaurants that receive more than 30 demerits are required to immediately fix the most critical violations and start corrective procedures on all the other violations within 48 hours.

Restaurants with high numbers of demerits include:

  • El Amigo Taqueria, 5251 N. Beach St.: 28
  • Krispy Catfish, 16208 McCart Ave.: 28
  • Stormie Monday Cafe, 3509 E. Berry St.: 28
  • Banana Blossom Thai Cuisine, 9160 N. Fwy. #400: 27
  • Neighbor’s House Grocery, 500 W. 7th St. Suite 175: 26

Roaches were observed at the Chick-fil-A at 3200 Hulen St. and the Pizza Hut at 4233 E. Lancaster Ave.
