Three Fort Worth restaurants closed for serious health violations in recent inspections
Three Fort Worth restaurants were closed for serious health violations during the Nov. 6-12 inspections, according to data from the city compiled by the Star-Telegram.
El Palenque Bakery, located at 2716 Jacksboro Highway; Fuego Burger, located at 4400 Benbrook Highway Suite 108; and Toque Mexicano, located at 5822 Camp Bowie Blvd., were required to close pending correction of the violations.
The inspector noted that all three establishments were not storing food at a safe temperature.
J’s Restaurant, located at 6435 McCart Ave., received 31 demerits on Nov. 8, the most given during this round of inspections. Violations included raw meat stored in close vicinity to other foods and employees not washing their hands.
At the Nov. 10 inspection, the restaurant received 22 demerits. The inspector noted some of the food wasn’t being held at a safe temperature and boxes of to-go containers were stored on the floor.
Restaurants that receive more than 30 demerits are required to immediately fix the most critical violations and start corrective procedures on all the other violations within 48 hours.
Shake Shack West Bend, located at 1601 S University Drive, was the only establishment of the 55 inspected to received zero demerits, which is a perfect score.
