Fort Worth Little Caesars Pizza restaurant closed for roaches, inadequate refrigeration

Two Fort Worth restaurants were temporarily closed for serious health violations after inspectors found evidence of pests, according to city reports compiled by the Star-Telegram.

There were 39 inspections conducted between Oct. 2-8.

At the Little Caesars Pizza location at 5159 Wichita St., an inspector saw multiple roaches on a prep cooler and on pizza cart covers, the report says. The inspector also observed inadequate refrigeration, with food items in the cooler above the required temperature. Shredded mozzarella cheese had a temperature of 56.7 degrees and the temperature of diced ham was taken at 51.6 degrees, the report said.

The pizza restaurant was temporarily shut down on Oct. 5 pending a reinspection.

At Lettuce Cook Gourmet on the Go, at 5101 White Settlement Road, an inspector saw “pest droppings” in a pantry area on Oct. 7, according to the report. The restaurant was told told close until corrective actions were completed.

In Fort Worth inspections, which are based on demerits, a score of zero is perfect.

No restaurant received over 30 demerits in the most recent round. Restaurants receiving more than 30 demerits are required to fix the worst problems immediately and clean up the rest within 48 hours.

Quick Wok Chinese Restaurant, at 7800 Crowley Road, had the highest score in this round, with 26 demerits.

Sushi Axiom on Donnelly Avenue, which previously scored 33 on Sept. 28, had a score of 21 in a followup inspection on Oct. 3
