Two of the 161 Arlington restaurants inspected between July 31 and Aug. 12 failed their health inspections and six scored poorly, according to data from the city compiled by the Star-Telegram.

Taste of Thai at 2535 E. Arkansas Lane and Panaderia del Angel at 2105 Sherry St. both failed their Aug. 10 inspections.

The city did not reply to a request for further information on the inspections or what caused the restaurants to fail.

In Arlington, restaurants are scored on a 100-point system. A score of 100 is perfect, a score of 75 or less requires a restaurant to be reinspected, and 70 is considered to be extremely poor.

Six restaurants scored at or below 75, with three of them scoring at 70 or below:

  • De la Fuente Tacos de Birria at 4331 Kelly Elliott Road, 65
  • Taste of Thai at 2535 E. Arkansas Lane, 67
  • Panaderia del Angel at 2105 Sherry St., 70
  • La Isla del Encanto Restaurant at 2201 E. Pioneer Parkway, 74
  • Arby’s at 1102 North Collins St., 75
  • Shell Shack Arlington at 550 Lincoln Square, 75

Two restaurants were reopened during this period after being shut down by the city:

  • Pho 18 at 2216 New York Ave., reopened Aug. 3
  • BT Crab Shack, 1818 E. Pioneer Parkway, reopened Aug. 11

Inspectors also visited Globe Life Field, Hurricane Harbor and Six Flags Over Texas.

Scores at Six Flags concession stands ranged from 100 to 93. At Hurricane Harbor, they were 100 to 88. And at Texas Ranger Globe Life Field, concession stands scored 98 to 94.

Five restaurants had perfect scores, including two stores at Six Flags.

Here are the inspection scores and violations for restaurants within the city limits of Arlington for July 31st - Aug. 13th, 2022. A score of 100 is a perfect score and 70 is considered to be extremely poor. Reinspections will be conducted for restaurants that score 75 or less. If serious health and sanitation violations are considered an imminent health hazard, the restaurant will be closed until the identified health hazard has been mitigated.
