Arlington Sonic closed, reopened after health inspectors find sewage backup in restaurant

A Sonic in Arlington was closed by the city when health inspectors visited 64 restaurants between June 19-25, according to data from the city compiled by the Star-Telegram.

Sonic at 1100 Northeast Green Oaks Blvd. was closed but reopened later in the day June 22, according to city data. A spokesperson told the Star-Telegram the restaurant was closed for a sewage backup inside the store and reopened when that problem was corrected.



Another restaurant, Mr. Hibachi at 5005 South Cooper St., scored poorly with a 73. It will require a followup inspection because of its score.

In Arlington, a score of 100 is a perfect score and 70 is considered to be extremely poor. Anything below a 75 automatically requires the restaurant to undergo a followup inspection.
