Dayne’s Craft BBQ in Fort Worth is moving, because Lola’s is leaving the West 7th area

Dayne’s Craft Barbecue, a Texas Monthly top-50 in the state, is moving to a yet-unannounced location with the closing of Lola’s Trailer Park, Dayne Weaver said Saturday.

Fort Worth Weekly reported Friday that Lola’s Saloon and Trailer Park, 2735 W. Fifth St., will move to 2000 W. Berry St. near Paschal High School, in part because of the same West 7th neighborhood parking and nuisance problems that drove nearby Fred’s to move.

Weaver wrote in a Facebook comment Saturday that he is not ready to announce the new location, saying: “We just have a lot of details to figure out.”

Dayne’s remains open the next few weeks at the Trailer Park location. Dayne’s serves lunch only Fridays through Sundays.

Dayne’s, known for both barbecue and burgers, was ranked in the magazine’s Top 50 in the same 2021 issue where Goldee’s Barbecue south of Kennedale was ranked No. 1.

The magazine reported: “The crew plates some of the most attractive spreads in the state: a platter of artfully arranged black-bark brisket, red-hued ribs, silky white pork belly, house-made pickles, street corn, and pink pickled onions would tempt even the Instagram-averse to take a photo. Weaver’s sausage program is one of the more creative ones in the state, as evidenced by his blueberry-and-Gouda version.”

Coincidentally, Dayne’s began as a pop-up in the same West Berry Street location. But Weaver has hinted at moving to a full-size restaurant.

Dayne Weaver and son Jake are hoping for a lift if Dayne’s Craft Barbecue makes the Texas Monthly Top 50.
