Two Fort Worth restaurants closed for health code violations found during inspections
Two Fort Worth restaurants were closed for health code violations found during inspections conducted from Jan. 2 to Jan. 15, according to data from the city compiled by the Star-Telegram. The city inspected 169 restaurants in that time period.
Fiesta Mexican Foods at 3233 Hemphill Street and Alp Pupuseria Morazan at 5201 McCart Avenue were closed to fix violations discovered by inspectors.
Alp Pupuseria Morazan was closed for serious health violations on Jan. 4, including food improperly stored, shelves with food residue buildup, unclean non-food-contact surfaces, no permit or license and inspection report posted for public view, improper use of hand-washing sink and frozen food being thawed under running water.
Fiesta Mexican Foods was closed after a Jan. 13 inspection found 32 violations in the establishment, including improperly stored food, employees handling food with their bare hands, improper disposal of wastewater or sewage and improper storage of clean and sanitized equipment, utensils, laundered linens and single-service or single use articles.
Three food-serving establishments received perfect scores. Marcos Pizza at 5250 N Tarrant Parkway, Salad and Go at 12556 N Beach St. and food service at Texas Rehabilitation Hospital at 425 Alabama Ave. all passed without inspectors finding a single violation.
