With Bar Louie filing for bankruptcy, what happens to locations in Tarrant County?
Bar Louie announced it filed for bankruptcy Monday and closed 38 of its restaurants, including two in Tarrant County.
According to Facebook pages for the locations, the restaurants on West 7th and near North East Mall in Hurst closed on Saturday. The Bar Louie in Arlington on Bagpiper Way remains open.
In a news release, the Addison-based gastropub chain said it filed for Chapter 11 to consolidate its debts and expects to emerge from the process within 90 days.
“Bar Louie is a profitable business focused on long-term growth with new investors. The sale through Chapter 11 will help us focus on our profitable core locations and expand in areas that have a proven track record of success,” said CEO Tom Fricke in the release.
Bar Louie will continue to operate more than 90 other restaurants throughout the country.
