New Korean fried chicken restaurant bringing ‘best of the best quality’ to Arlington
Danny Doan really wanted to open a fried chicken place. Then he found a Korean fried chicken franchise called BB.Q Chicken, and he fell in love.
BB.Q Chicken has more than 1,000 locations worldwide, but this is the first in Tarrant County. It is located at 1827 SW Green Oaks Blvd. Suite 101 in Arlington. And “BB.Q” actually stands for “Best of the Best Quality” — not “barbecue.” The chicken is fried in olive oil, and the sauces use Asian flavors unlike most sauces you’d find at places like Wingstop or Buffalo Wild Wings.
“It’s different than the casual chicken place,” Doan said. “Here we’re cutting it, trimming it, brining it for 42 hours. For us, it’s love — it takes a lot of process and time.”
Construction on the new restaurant will finish up next week with an opening slated for early February. If you’re looking to eat lunch, expect to spend around $10. For dinner, it’ll be around $13.
Doan hopes this place will appeal to everyone, but the Asian community in particular. He said that a lot of Asians in Tarrant County end up driving to Dallas for Asian food, and this place could be something they turn to since it’s in their backyards.
“There is a big Asian community in Tarrant County that everyone skips out on,” Doan said. “I thought it was a great opportunity to bring it to west of Dallas.”
