Oliver’s Fine Foods, the restaurant/grocery store, announced Wednesday afternoon on Facebook that it will close its Mansfield store after service on Saturday, Dec. 15.
“We are excited to announce that we are selling our catering business and [have] been acquired by Walters Wedding Estates,” the post says. “ We want to express our deep gratitude to all our family, friends, staff and loyal patrons over the last 10 years.”
This is the second closing in 20 months for an Oliver’s location. A Sundance Square location in downtown Fort Worth closed in April 2017.
The Mansfield location opened first, in 2008. According to Star-Telegram archives, it was founded by Chef Todd Bush and his wife Clarissa. Bush, whose middle name is Oliver, is a Culinary Institute of America graduate. The store had an in-house butcher shop, a deli menu, prepared foods and a selection of beer and wine.
The Fort Worth location opened in late 2011 and lasted a little over five years. After it closed in April 2017, it was replaced by In the Sack, which had a similar concept but emphasized that it offered a “unique delivery concept allowing residents to bypass the grocery store.
In the Sack, which opened in October 2017, didn’t last a year — it closed in September 2018. Fort Worth chef Jon Bonnell will open a location of his popular TCU-area sports grill, Buffalo Bros. in 2019 at the 415 Throckmorton St. location.
The Mansfield Oliver’s is at 2751 E Broad St. Suite 109. For updates, follow @OliversFineFoodsMansfield on Facebook.
