It’s alive! Starbucks releases Zombie Frappuccino for Halloween
Just in time for Halloween, Starbucks has added a ghastly new addition to its drink menu: the Zombie Frappuccino.
So what goes into making a creepy concoction inspired by the undead? Turns out a whole lot of sugar.
Per the Starbucks website, the sinfully sweet drink features a green Frappuccino créme base infused with caramel apple flavoring that’s topped off with blood red mocha drizzle and pink whipped cream to resemble brains. For calorie conscious individuals, a grande version of the Zombie Frappuccino is listed at 290 calories on the website (though some social media posts report the drink clocking in as much as 430 calories).

This isn’t the first time Starbucks has celebrated Halloween’s arrival with the release of spooky-themed drink. In 2014, the Seattle-based coffee chain introduced the Franken Frappuccino, followed by the Frappula Frappuccino in 2015 and 2016.
“When brainstorming a new Frappuccino flavor for this Halloween, we started by thinking about a Halloween party and monster mash,” said Starbucks beverage development team member Jennica Robinson. “We had already invited Frankenstein and vampires to the party, so we came up with another monster that could join the bash.”
So far online reaction to the seasonal Starbucks drink has been mostly mixed.
Life tip: don’t get the zombie Frappuccino from Starbucks

Tried it but I feel like maaaaybe an extra scoop of the green apple powder would make it taste better. It’s bland? #zombiefrappuccino pic.twitter.com/mqN639XWzu
