Cane Rosso announces new location in Frisco
Cane Rosso, the much-lauded, Dallas-based Neapolitan pizza chain — it’s fair to call a place with multiple locations in several cities a chain, right? — is adding another location.
This one will be in Frisco, specifically at The Star, the “new World Headquarters and Training Facility” of the Dallas Cowboys.
Cane Rosso made the announcement Tuesday via Facebook, featuring an amusing video with the worst fake mustache this side of that Jack-in-the-Box commercial. At least, we assume it’s fake. (Extra points for the “Kanye Roscoe” YouTube account.)
Contacted by email, Cane Rosso mastermind Jay Jerrier told DFW.com that the Frisco location will be about 5,000 square feet, right in front of the main entrance to the domed stadium. There will be a small space for Cow Tipping Creamery, Cane Rosso’s sister ice-cream biz. (Note: Clicking on the link for Cow Tipping Creamery might make you immediately crave ice cream.)
“We’re going to have two wood-burning ovens installed side-by-side,” Jerrier writes. “One will be for our normal Cane Rosso pizzas and one will be run at a lower temperature to make our 3-foot Metro Pizzas.”
The yard-long Metro Pizzas, available at the recently opened Austin location, allow customers to mix and match three different Cane Rosso pizzas in three sections, Jerrier says. The second oven will also be used for baked pastas, eggplant Parmigiana and other dishes.
Jerrier says the Frisco building “will be delivered for us to work on by December, so we should be open in the May/June time frame.”
As mentioned in the Cane Rosso video, Cane Rosso has had a Fort Worth location since 2014, which led to DFW.com contributor Andrew Marton’s profile of Jerrier. So if you live in Fort Worth, you don’t have to drive elsewhere to try Jerrier’s pizza, you can just check it out at 815 W. Magnolia Ave.
Aside from Fort Worth, Dallas and Austin, Cane Rosso has locations in Carrollton, Fairview and Houston
