What’s on Tap, a craft-beer “cafe” that currently has one location in the Denton County community of Highland Village, is expanding south.

According to both the What’s on Tap Highland Village Facebook page and the City of Keller, Texas, Twitter feed, What’s on Tap is adding a second location in Keller, specifically in Keller Town Center.

“We obsess over details trifling to many such as pouring beer correctly and proper glassware, and we are giddy like children at Christmas with the news of the latest release from our favorite brewery,” says the manifesto on the What’s on Tap website. “We value that wherever there's great beer, there is community and know intuitively that beer tastes better when shared with a friend.”

A Dallas Morning News story from 2015 reports on What’s on Tap founder Brad Trapnell, who ditched his corporate career to open the Highland Village spot, dedicated to selling growlers, in 2014.

Trapnell says in the DMN report that he started home-brewing in 2007 and even thought about starting a brewery. But what he really liked was brewing, being able to share brews with friends, and talking about beer, all of which fit into his What’s on Tap philosophy.

According to What’s on Tap’s info page on Facebook, the Highland Village location has a rotating selection of 36 taps, as well as a selection of bottled and canned beer from around the world. It also offers wines by the glass, locally brewed root beer and a light-fare menu, sort of like a wine bar, but with more, you know, beer.

A photo of the taps board on Facebook features beers from Denton’s Audacity Brew House and Justin’s Rabbit Hole Brewing, as well as brews from Fort Worth’s Martin House Brewing Co. and Dallas’ Deep Ellum Brewing Co. and Peticolas Brewing Co. among others.

Keller is home to Shannon Brewing Co., which seems like a natural addition to the menu in Keller, as does Grapevine Craft Brewery in Grapevine. We have a query out for additional information and will update if it comes in.
