Perry’s Steakhouse and Grille coming to Grapevine

Perry’s Steakhouse and Grille, a Houston-based chain that has locations in Dallas’ Uptown area and in Frisco, plans to open its first Tarrant location in Grapevine in 2017.

“We are excited to announce the opening of our 3rd Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille to serve Dallasites!,” reads an announcement on the restaurant’s website.

The Community Impact Newspaper for Grapevine/Colleyville/Southlake reports that the Grapevine Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council unanimously approved the location on March 15.

The address will be 2400 W. Texas 114, Grapevine, which is not far from Southlake and, perhaps not coincidentally, pretty much across the freeway from a Kirby’s Prime Steakhouse.

According to a release, the 10,000-square-foot restaurant will accommodate approximately 400 diners and have new design elements.

A “towering wine wall” will allow people in the dining rooms glimpses of Bar 79, the restaurant’s accompanying bar.

Perry’s owns and operates two other steakhouses in the Metroplex — in Uptown Dallas and Frisco. According to its website, the steakhouse chain began as a small meat market more than three decades ago.

Steak, of course, is a big thing there, but the restaurant boasts of its seven-finger pork chop — a chop seven fingers high.

There’s also the Symphony Kabob, described thus on the McKinney Avenue/Uptown Dallas menu: “A hanging presentation of beef tenderloin, lobster and shrimp, served with steamed asparagus” (at $44.95, it’s more expensive than some symphony tickets). The dessert menu includes three “signature flaming desserts” (fire!).

Bar 79 is named after the Perry meat market’s birth year. It will have an extensive wine list, cocktails and craft drinks and a less-expensive food menu.

It also will have live music, a spacious patio and “Social Hour 79” 4-6:30 p.m. weekdays and 4-9 p.m. Sundays.

The opening is expected in early 2017.
