Nature-friendly places to go in DFW starting Aug. 6
▪ Kids can join a free live animal exploration and related activity at 2 p.m. Aug. 6 at the River Legacy Living Science Center, 703 N.W. Green Oaks Blvd., Arlington. Register by calling 817-860-6752. riverlegacy.org.
▪ Learn the history of the Fort Worth Nature Center on a hike that explores its topography, diversity of species and CCC legacy, 1-2:30 p.m. Aug. 6.
At 11 a.m. Aug. 7, kids can watch a slide presentation on “out of sight” insects such as grasshoppers, beetles and more, and then learn how to use a collecting sheet to count them and record their findings.
